Gobi Manchurian is famous vegetarian starter, which is borrowed from Chinese Cuisine. Deep-fried cauliflower sauted in Manchurian sauce gives us holistic experience. Serve Gobi Manchurian with Vegetable Fried Rice or as a Starter.
Gobi Manchurian/Cauliflower Manchurian
Ingredients
For Frying Cauliflower

1 Medium size Cauliflower, cut florets

3 Tablespoons Corn Flour

3 Tablespoons All Purpose Flour

Salt, to taste

Oil, for frying
For Manchurian Sauce
-
5 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
1 Green Chilli, finely chopped
-
1 cup Spring onions (whites and greens), chopped
-
1 Tablespoon Chilli Sauce
-
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
-
1 Teaspoon Tomato sauce
-
½ Teaspoon Pepper Powder
-
1 Tablespoon Corn Flour
-
Oil
-
Salt, to taste
Method
For the Cauliflower

Combine Corn flour and all-purpose flour given under “For Frying Cauliflower” add little water and make a paste and mix the cauliflower florets.

Allow it to marinate for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a deep pan, deep-fry cauliflower till they are golden brown.

Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
For Manchurian Sauce

Combine the cornflour and 2 tablespoon water in a bowl, mix well and keep it aside.

Heat oil in a wok, add chopped garlic and onions and sauté on a medium heat for few seconds.

Then add half of spring onions and sauté for a minute.

Now add all the sauce chilli sauce, tomato sauce and soy sauce.

Add water to avoid burning.

Then add the corn flour water, mix well and cook on a high flame for a few seconds.

Add the deep-fried cauliflower florets, toss well and cook on high flame for a minute, while stirring occasionally.

Serve Gobi Manchurian with Vegetable Fried Rice.
