Bitter Gourd is known as Pavakkai in Tamil. It can be used in various recipes. Today, we are going to see an easy method of cooking bitter gourd. This is not a favourite vegetable for many of us but I am sure this simple fry will make everyone to add bitter gourd in their diet. This is the best way to add bitter gourd in kids’ meal. I always enjoy eating even when I was a child. This is a mandatory vegetable in my house and my children love to eat this every time I cook. There are so many dishes that we can prepare using bitter gourd-like fry, pachadi, curry, juice, gravy, etc.
Bitter gourd has got many benefits. It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals, iron and vitamins like A and C. It contains twice the calcium of spinach and beta-carotene of broccoli.

Tips to make perfect pavakkai fry:
Here is the detailed recipe:
Take a pan, add 5 tbsp oil.
Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Then add 1 tsp chilli powder. You can adjust chilli powder according to your preference.
Add salt to taste
Now mix everything in the oil. Keep the flame in low to medium.
Cut bitter gourd in any shape. Now add sliced bitter gourd and mix well in the oil. Then cook the bitter gourd on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
Serve Bitter Gourd fry with Sambar rice or Curd rice.
